Angela Gonzales and Erin Landis met in 2009 when Angela began working at a large portfolio driven management company in Fort Worth, Texas. Erin ran the accounting department and Angela began work as an assistant to a property manager. They quickly became friends and collaborators. Over the following few years,, the two began to recognize definitive shifts within the property management industry. Changes were coming to the industry and they could see a need for a different kind of management company. Both women shared similar ideas on the need for streamlined, tech forward solutions to the everyday nuances of residential management. Erin, having watched property managers and management companies for years, witnessed the unpleasant repercussions for those who ignored or refused to integrate new technologies. Angela, as a licensed real estate agent (REALTOR with trademark thingy), saw the advancements within the industry as a call to “level up”. And so they committed to creating a PM company that relied more on data streaming speeds than fax machine toner – a paperless, technology based, virtual PM company.
Confident in their skills, knowledge and experience in property management, Angela and Erin launched Moxie Property Management in December of 2014. They hit the ground running and continue to operate Moxie PM based on their mutual desire to streamline the sometimes erratic industry of property management. Within Moxie PM, Angela focuses on developing and maintaining relationships with the Clientele and serves as the Broker/Property Manager and Erin serves as the Accounting/Administrative Executive and takes care of all things money. The two work seamlessly in these roles and over the years have developed processes and procedures for virtually all areas within the operational side of property management. Their combined experiences with thousands upon thousands of residents over the years brings priceless experience and expertise to the often erratic realm of tenant relations and leasing, as a whole.
As Moxie PM grew so did the networking opportunities. As long time, involved members of organizations like NARPM (National Association of Residential Property Managers) Angela and Erin began to share the basic ideas and concepts behind Moxie’s processes and protocols. Their professional peers began to take note and ask questions and soon the two women of Moxie PM began consulting for licensed property manages across the United States. Locally, they met self managing landlords who ran solid operations save X, Y and/or Z. These landlords had zero options for professional management services other than “full service management”. Moxie PM noticed this void and started to engage in consulting services for these underserviced landlords and so, Moxie Consulting was born – the much needed sister to Moxie PM.
As consultants, Erin and Angela ask, “What’s your operation’s weakness and how can we help?”. By offering a range of “a la carte” services from screening applications to lease only and eviction services, Moxie Consulting can eliminate a landlord’s biggest headache and improve the Owner’s landlording game. Whether a landlord owns 1 property or 1000, whether the properties are A class or D class, suburban or rural, single family or multifamily, Moxie Consulting aims to raise the bar within the rental industry.
